The prophet pbuh said, “The best house among the Muslims is the one in which an orphan is treated well. The worst house among the Muslims is the one in which an orphan is treated badly."
In Islam, it is the right of a child to be protected, taken care of physically, psychologically and emotionally. And these rights don’t change when they become orphans. Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) was himself an orphan. There is great importance set in the Quran and Sunnah (the teachings of the Prophet (PBUH)) in the treatment of the orphans.
The Orphan Issue
MGR supports carer families and the orphans they are caring for. We supply them with the financial resources necessary to ensure that the basic and educational needs of the child are met. Sometimes, we’re able to provide the carer family with a small stipend towards the cost of food, as well as other benefits like Qurbani meat every Eid ul-Adha, and food packs during Ramadan.
Since 2004, the global rate of adoption has dropped by 60%. Yet every day, 5,760 more children become orphans. Most of them are without care or protection. They are at risk of exploitation and abuse. Some have already fallen victim to criminal gangs and traffickers, who sell children into forced labour or the sex trade.
"Prophet Muhammad (saw) said: ‘There is no deed that is better in the sight of Allah or more greatly rewarded than a good deed done in the (first) ten days of Al-Adha’. (Bukhari)"
When a person slaughters a Qurbani animal, he is forgiven at the fall of the first drop of blood, and verily, the animal shall be brought forward on the Day of Judgment with its blood, meat etc, and shall be increased in weight seventy times more than its own weight, and thereafter it will be placed on the scale of deeds.
